Dr. Helen Deborah Lewis

Faculty, The Boston Conservatory at Berklee

Helen Deborah Lewis is a faculty member and the Academic Coordinator in the Theater Division at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee in Boston, Massachusetts, where she will assume the new position of Assistant Professor in Fall 2017. She teaches modern drama, dramatic theory and criticism, queer theory and gender studies, graduate studies, and acting. Lewis has previously taught at Marlboro College, the University of Massachusetts Boston, and Tufts University. She has presented at numerous national academic conferences, including the American Society for Theatre Research annual conference, the Mid-America Theatre Conference, the Canadian Association for Theatre Research conference, and the Popular Culture Association national conference. She recently contributed a chapter to Twenty-First Century Musicals: From Stage to Screen to be published by Routledge in August 2017. Lewis holds a Ph.D. from Tufts University, where she also received the award for Outstanding Contributions to Undergraduate Education.
